TRAUMA - ADULT
TRAUMATIC CARDIAC ARREST (TCA)
PromptManagement of Traumatic Cardiac Arrest
ResponseHOTTT Drills
Haemorrhage control
Oxygenate
Tension (Decompress)
Torniquet
Transfuse
Little role for chest compressions
Consider further management:
blunt trauma - pelvic binder
Crush injury - calcium, bicarbonate, crystalloid (preferably saline) loading, hyperventilation, +/- tourniquets, +/- amputation.
Thoracotomy (See thoracotomy)
If mechanism ≠ injury consider medical cause of arrest.
